Some time ago, I came to a realization that I had learned some things over the years. Once I was able to observe myself, my actions and responses to situations, I figured out that I had matured in a lot of ways. I discovered that by being intentional, I could be at peace and enjoy myself while I navigate through the challenges of life. The most exciting part of my realization is that I have a lot more to learn and for me, that’s the fun part.
Also about me, yellow butterflies are my spirit animal. Literally. One day in 2019, I asked the Universe to show me a yellow butterfly to give me a sign that I was going the right direction in my life. The next day, I saw three yellow butterflies. So here I am.
I’m a believer in seeing the positive side of everything. I learned this philosophy my senior year in high school when a friend of mine in English class asked me, “What are you complaining about NOW?” It struck a chord that I’ve never forgotten. From that day forward, I made it a point to look at the bright side.
My choice to look at the good in things led me to take on life’s challenges with a different outlook so I’ve learned how to go with the flow and handle obstacles in stride. My biggest challenges have been overcoming the sadness of losing so many loved ones. While I’ve learned to accept loss, it still stings.
I like to live by the words, “It feels good to feel good” so fitness is a priority for me. If I can teach my 3 children anything, it would be to put their health first. I mean what’s the fun in daily life if you feel like crap? I credit college cheerleading to shaping my mindset about fitness.
I want to share my life lessons in hopes that I can help others take life in stride and live their best life. Click the link below and check out my first blog - 10 Tips on how to GET YOUR MIND RIGHT and Get in Shape. I told you health is a priority! :)
