A Mother’s Plight
You’ll be going along in life thinking you have it all together.
A good 3 consecutive months will have passed and you’re thinking things are pretty good.
Partner’s happy. Kids thriving. Your own mother satisfied.
Then boom. It’s not.
You realize you haven’t been intimate with your partner in over a week.
When normally it’s AT LEAST twice a week.
You check your kids’ grades. They have 4 F’s out of 6 classes.
Not just one of them, but BOTH of your high school kids.
You’ve somehow gotten off your workout regimen.
But you’re still eating and drinking what you want.
You are running between doctor and dental appointments for your parent.
You’re receiving early morning phone calls from half siblings
that don’t normally call at that hour.
You learn that your actual sibling is depressed and talking out of their head.
You call to talk them off the ledge and in the process you discover why you’re not a therapist because you simply tell them, “You gotta suck it up!”
You need to make more money.
Your nails are a hot mess.
Your wardrobe is sparse and outdated.
Your husband has more pairs of shoes than you.
You want to remodel your entire kitchen.
But you also want to travel the world.
You’re not alone.
But know this….
Everything is going to turn out great.
It always does.
You’ll have great sex.
Kids will get it together and be okay.
You’ll get motivated to work out again.
Your parents will feel great…
Even if outcomes are not ideal. You got this.
You are amazing. You are resilient.
You’ve been the best example of strength, good morals, work ethic and love.
You’re still standing. You’re a boss.
You, literally are the reason that humans exist on the planet.
Enjoy all the flowers, love, dinners, and breakfast in bed that’s coming to you for Mother’s Day
(Make sure your chefs are reminded that cleaning the kitchen after cooking is also a great Mother’s Day gift)
Be spoiled. You deserve it.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
(We need a Mother’s Month)
